MSNBCNEWS Microsoft and NBC
MSNBCNews is the cable news channel broadcasting 24 hours a day for
the United States and Canada that came to its present day form as a
result of the combination of MSN and NBC.
It
was in 1996 that Microsoft and General Electric’s NBC unit (presently
NBC Universal) founded MSNBCNews channel.
Though NBC and MSN shared operations at the time MSNBCNews channel
was created, in December 2005, NBC Universal got a majority part of
the television network, while Microsoft only got 18%.
MSNBC cable occupies the third position in America’s most-watched
cable news channel. It lies behind Fox News but ahead of CNN News.
The MSNBCNews is broadcast from Secaucus New Jersey, but they will
very soon move to the NBC’s main headquarters in New York.
It was the MSNBCNews channel that proved what a great importance the
interactive use of the Internet has. E-mails and phone numbers displayed
regularly pointed to how MSNBC manages to stay connected.
