ESPNNEWS 24-hour Sports News
The ESPNNews is the 24-hour news television channel belonging to the
ESPN sports network and was launched in November 1996. ESPNNews is exclusively
sports-oriented broadcasting news reports, press conferences and live
talk-shows.
In some areas of the United States ESPNNews are considered a premium
channel, as it is not included in basic cable systems. There are some
local or regional sports networks that choose to broadcast ESPNNews
reports at night or in the morning.
A strong point for ESPNNews is the “bottom line”, the place
at the bottom of the screen that flashes scores, statistics, news alerts
and the day’s sport events. It also remains active during commercials
making sure that the news flow is not interrupted.
ESPNNews also airs SportCenter at nights and collaborates with XM Radio
and Sirius Radio to broadcast the audio of the ESPN News. ESPN News
airs radio shows like the French Open or Wimbledon, thus reaching out
wider audiences all over the world.
