SalinaJournal Kansas Newspaper
Salina City Kansas is the home of the SalinaJournal. Salina was founded
in the late 1850s and in twenty years time it grew to need a local newspaper.
The SalinaJournal first issue saw day light in 1871. Ever since, it
has covered the local news of the North center and North West of Kansas
state.
The first edition of the SalinaJournal appeared only one year after
Salina was classified as a third-class city, and it initially started
as a weekly, being converted into a daily only in 1887.
The SalinaJournal is currently published by Harris Enterprises from
Hutchinson, Kansas. The latest service the SalinaJournal has offered
its audience is the 333 Line.
This feature enables people to call the SalinaJournal special line,
and leave messages or comments related to on-going current events on
an answering machine.
The comments are analyzed and published the next day. Very often there
have been complaints that some of these comments are far from being
politically correct.
