BristolPress Serving Connecticut
The BristolPress is the daily newspaper that covers a large area of
Connecticut for the local communities of Bristol, Plymouth, Plainville,
Terryville, Burlington and Thomaston counties.
Traces of the BristolPress history are to be found in the Bristol
Room, a history library the local community takes great pride in.
The BristolPress first edition published in 1871 is available on microfilm
at the same Bristol Room.
In 2003, the BristolPress together with The Tattoo, Bristol's
teen newspaper, won 23 awards in a state writing and photography competition.
It was the first-place award for photography that went to the BristolPress team from the same Connecticut Society of Professional Journalists.
The BristolPress provides an online searchable archive with all the
newspaper issues from 1999 to present day.
Thanks to the online version of the BristolPress, one may access weather
maps, local radar and satellite images.
